The New Elands mine is located on the farm New Elands 949, some 90 kilometres northeast of Kimberley in the Boshof District, Free State Province, South Africa.
Historical records show that New Elands produced around 1.5 million tonnes of ore from dykes and kimberlite blows, and this yielded some 464,000 carats of diamonds at an estimated grade of 34.24 cpht.
Shaft infrastructure is well maintained at the mine site which makes subsequent exploration and access to underground for sampling economically viable. The Company has no immediate plans to redevelop the property until the on-going expansion programmes at the nearby Blaauwbosch and Newlands mines has been completed.
