KimCor is a fully integrated business. Anmic, a subsidiary of Free State, provides cutting and polishing services to KimCor for the larger high quality stones recovered from it's operations.
Anmic was originally established as a Closed Corporation in 1990, and has since been operated as a diamond cutting and polishing business in South Africa, working on behalf of third parties on a commission basis as well as purchasing uncut stones on the open market. In November 2006 it was converted into a "Pty".
Anmic has established business relationships with selected diamond dealers in both the United States and Europe for polished diamonds bigger than 0.8Cts, and also in Cape Town, South Africa for polished diamonds smaller than 0.8Cts.
KimCor believes that the arrangement it has in place with Anmic allows the group to gain full benefit from the value of diamonds at the point at which it sells them in their uncut form. It is expected that the agreement with Anmic will add value to the group's resource while bringing in expertise at the top end of the diamond chain. While KimCor sees itself primarily as a diamond miner and explorer it sees the opportunity with Anmic, at a relatively low cost, to increase shareholder value."
The board of KimCor believes that the operations of Anmic will bring further advantages following completion of the acquisition of the diamond assets and operations of Dwyka Resources Limited.
In late 2006, KimCor acquired, through its wholley owned subsidiary Free State Diamon Mines (Pty) Limited, 50% of Anmic (Pty) Limited ("Anmic"), a long established South African diamond cutting and polishing business In addition, Free State has the option to aquire the remaining 50% ofAnmic for a period expiring 20 August 2008.
